The Uvex Onyxx Children's Helmet

The uvex onyxx helmet provides exceptional safety and protection for younger riders.  Combining the perfect fit with the superb protection provided by advanced technology, research and sporting knowledge.  This is the brand new helmet designed with the comfort of childrens heads specifically in mind, that encourages them to wear the helmet, and forget about it.  This extremely lightweight helmet weighs only 275g and is thought to be the lightest kitemarked helmet on the market, which allows for no compromises.

The onyxx helmet combines outstanding ventilation with a moisture wicking, removeable, anti-allergenic, washable liner.  Technology from the extreme sporting industries of cycling and skiing has been applied so that cool air is drawn and funnelled over the top of the head, in an active motion. 

The IAS 3D fitting system ensures that measurements and fit are secure and comfortable around the circumference of the head, and also over the crown of the head, creating a pressure free and correct fit for the depth of the helmet. Some children have shallow foreheads as their skulls develop, and some have deeper foreheads.  The skull only finishes developing at the age of 12, therefore adjustability is vital for the shape and size around the maturing head. This is crucial for the comfort and enjoyment of the rider and can be adjusted and perfected.  As the rider grows, the helmet can be adjusted to allow for an extra 5cm, thereby reducing the costs of continually replacing a helmet with every centimetre of growth, and meaning that a helmet can be shared between friends and siblings.  Essentially the uvex onyxx helmet provides a customised fit.

The harness is a soft-edged and yet highly robust webbing material that does not irritate or scratch the face.  The  one click monomatic harness can be fastened and unfastened using just one hand, meaning that there is a safe hand on the reins at all times.  The surface of the helmet is hardwearing, sleek, smooth and wipeable and comes in two child friendly designs for both boys and girls.  There is no ripping, fading, or staining to spoil the appearance of the helmet.
