“I could tell the issue was spring grass related and also the impact of hard ground on her hooves. “She was very pottery in the mornings and I wanted to try and make her as comfortable and stress free as possible.” After veterinary advice Catherine changed Ella’s management routine which saw a big improvement.

The Magnetik Rug from Veredus helps to stimulate the flow of blood in the horse’s body, which helps reduce swelling and speeds up the elimination of toxins and the regenerative processes. The rug also helps to prepare muscles and tendons for work. Made of breathable microporous material, the Veredus Magnetik Rug is equipped with 32 neodymium magnets that develop a power of 2400 Gauss each. The magnets are distributed in the lumbo-dorsal fasciae, lats and shoulders. The rug is designed to be used either alone or under any winter blanket. Magnetotherapy is a medical method for curing certain pathologies, by exploiting magnetic fields. The creation of magnetic field, by means of permanently magnetized multi-pole neodymium plates, helps restore biological energy by slowing down the physiological degeneration of tissues. Magnetic therapy stimulates vasodilation, speeds up the elimination of dead cells and toxins, while decontracting the muscles and reducing swelling. Static magnetic energy also stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, which are essential elements for rebuilding tissue. The Veredus Magnetik Rug is available in the colour Black, in sizes S, M and L and is priced at around £439.00.

In light of the recent standard changes and the revised rulings of the Associations regarding helmets for the 2016 season we would like to make all parties aware of the following, and avoid any misinterpretation that may occur.
All helmets that are sold in the European Union need to carry a CE marking.
ASTM Helmets need to carry a CE label too if they are to be sold legally in Europe, and to be worn by Association members, however the CE label can only be based on a European standard. Not on the American standard. This has led to some misinterpretation within the industry.
The CE mark at this juncture applies solely to the VG1 standard.
Therefore all helmets that ONLY carry the ASTM standard are illegal because they are not legally carrying a CE mark, which is required by law for items of PPE in the European Union.
Helmets that do not carry the CE mark are illegal in the EU and to offer such items for sale can lead to a heavy financial penalty for the retailer.
uvex will not release a product for sale that does not adhere to legislation and compromises their customers and the end consumer.
uvex VG1 helmets will be available shortly, and uvex would like to thank everyone for their patience and brand loyalty.

WHEN nine-year-old Shetland, Little Betty became unsound the Land family from Norfolk knew they had to do everything they could to get her comfortable. Owned by Nicola Land and ridden by her four-year-old daughter, Edith, Little Betty is a huge part of the family. Said Nicola: “We first noticed Little Betty was off colour when I lost my old horse and she became a bit stressed. “We had to move her to another field and I think this was where the problem started and we could see she was foot sore but with careful management she came right and Edith was able to get back to Pony Club rallies. “The issue started again when we moved house and although we fenced off a small paddock it seemed the upheaval of the new environment had upset her and this time she was much worse and was very foot sore.
