The Sprenger SENSOGAN® HS Weymouth has a slight port that offers space for the tongue without squeezing the sensitive palate. The mouthpiece curves around the tongue in a smooth bow and is an ideal choice for horses that have issues with taking up a contact. By making this bit available in SENSOGAN® Sprenger have given riders an even more delicate and sophisticated connection to the horse.

The most popular lower cheek size is 7cm, although it is also available in a 5cm cheek which has direct and quicker action. Sprenger ask riders to ensure that they measure their horse accurately for a weymouth – it must fit exactly in the horse’s mouth and the cheeks must be close to the side of the horse’s mouth. The choice of bradoon will depend on the horse – but must be ½ - 1cm larger than the weymouth.

The IAS 3D fitting system ensures that measurements and fit are secure and comfortable around the circumference of the head, and also over the crown of the head, creating a pressure free and correct fit for the depth of the helmet. Some children have shallow foreheads as their skulls develop, and some have deeper foreheads.  The skull only finishes developing at the age of 12, therefore adjustability is vital for the shape and size around the maturing head. Amerigo launch new Vespucci Dressage Snaffle.

The next generation of bitting has arrived, with the launch of Sensogan® from world leaders in bitting technologies Sprenger.

SENSOGAN® is a new bit material developed by SPRENGER and is the result of two years of research and development aiming to improve on the AURIGAN material which has made SPRENGER bits so popular with so many professional and amateur riders.

SENSOGAN® has improved properties but also a new appearance. The white-gold colour gives the bit a discreet and elegant look and due to the improved material mix, SENSOGAN® does not tarnish easily as the chewing activity of the horse is optimally supported. Bucas Goes Stripy for Summer

Dress your horse up like a zebra this summer and keep him fly free. Really? Yes it’s true. Following trials in Hungary and Sweden, researchers have discovered that horse flies hate stripes, which is the reason behind Bucas’ latest fly rug design.

Pallets containing vegetable oil were painted different patterns of black and white stripes or all black or all white. These pallets were then placed in a fly-infested field and results showed that there were far more flies in the black painted pallets, fewer in the white but the fewest flies of all were found in the pallets painted with very thin black and white stripes.

Afterwards, researchers carried out a similar trial on model horses covered in glue. At the end of 59 days, the black horse had caught 562 flies, the brown one 334, the white one 22 and the zebra patterned horse had just 8! It is thought that the flies find the stripes confusing and as a result they tend to steer clear.

Based on this research, Bucas has developed a first of its kind fly rug with thin zebra-like stripes, to keep horses free from the stresses of summer flies for good. This unique zebra fly rug, which is the same design as the Bucas standard Buzz Off fly rug, has shoulder darts for extra room and movement, a stitched on neck, which overlaps in front to ensure no flies can get in, a belly flap for further protection and it’s made from a fine mesh fabric ensuring that even the smallest of flies won’t have access to your horse. What’s more, there’s the option of a matching fly mask, too.
